Bahrain: Euro Motors, the exclusive importer of BMW Group vehicles in Bahrain has announced the arrival of two new BMW Group models to the Kingdom, the all new BMW 6 Series Coupé and the first-ever MINI Coupé. Launched at the Euro Motors showroom in Sitra, the two vehicles are set to amaze car enthusiasts in Bahrain, with irresistible design and driving dynamics.
Both models have new interior and exterior designs and come with a wealth of technology highlights that distinguish them from competitors. Offering stylish design, outstanding performance, luxury and sheer driving pleasure, the two models are expected to set trends in both the premium car and sports activity vehicle segments.

The All New BMW 6 Series Coupé
Following the launch of the BMW 6 Series Convertible earlier this year, the third generation of the 2+2-seater sports Coupé sees premium automotive manufacturer BMW adding another exciting chapter to its thirty year-long tradition in the production of sports cars. On board to deliver the BMW 6 Series Coupé’s signature driving experience is a range of innovative driver assistance systems and BMW ConnectedDrive infotainment features. The new car therefore meets the highest, not to mention the broadest, expectations of driving pleasure in a large, premium 2+2-seater in incomparable style.
Design: Commanding presence and athletic elegance
The new model’s extra length and width over its predecessor model combines with its 5-millimetre lower height to produce a strikingly low-set and powerful design. The new interpretation of the traditional BMW Coupé‘s proportions is embellished by flowing lines and harmonious curves that create a feeling of athletic grace, complemented by extremely classy and eye-catching design features. The exterior paintwork of the new BMW 6 Series Coupé can be ordered in a choice of eight metallic and two non-metallic shades, allowing customers to highlight both the sporting credentials of the Coupé and its modern and elegant character.
Interior: Driver-oriented cockpit, exclusive ambience
The driver-oriented cockpit layout and a dynamic forward-surging movement define the interior design. The centre section of the instrument panel - including the Control Display, central air vent and the controls for the audio system and climate control - is angled slightly towards the driver. The fluent transition between the centre console and instrument panel can be accentuated with optional stitching in contrasting colour for the leather surfaces.
BMW ConnectedDrive
The new BMW 6 Series Coupé is emphasised with numerous BMW ConnectedDrive optional driver assistance technology features for enhanced comfort and safety, some of these include: rear-view camera; Surround View; BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition; and BMW Park Assistant. In addition, the new BMW 6 Series Coupé is the only car in its segment available with a full colour Head-Up Display which projects important driving-related information onto the windscreen within the driver’s direct field of view.
Owners of select BlackBerry smart phones can also access the phone’s office function via the operating system iDrive. A new Bluetooth interface that integrates the BlackBerry device into the vehicle enables e-mails, contact lists, messages and calendar entries to be received and displayed on the Control Display and even read out by means of an optional voice output function. In addition, Bluetooth Audio Streaming enables the driver to listen to music from an audio player or mobile phone without the need for a cable. The title information for the song appears in the vehicle display and can be selected and accessed via the iDrive Controller.
Performance
One V8 and one six-cylinder in-line engine are available in the Kingdom.
The eight-cylinder, 4.4 litre engine in the new BMW 650i Coupé produces a maximum output of 407 hp. This unique engine, with turbochargers positioned in the V-shaped area between the cylinder banks, as well as its TwinPower Turbo, produces an instantaneous and sustained wave of power, making its responsiveness a delight for the driver.
The new BMW 640i Coupé is powered by a six-cylinder in-line engine in which the BMW TwinPower Turbo technology brings both direct injection and VALVETRONIC fully variable valve control to the table. This combination optimises both the responsiveness and efficiency of the 3.0-litre, which generates a maximum output of 235 kW/320 hp at 5,800 rpm and puts its peak torque of 450 Newton metres (332 lb-ft) on tap between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm.
The MINI Coupé
As the sportiest model yet in the MINI line-up, the new MINI Coupé sees the brand breathe new life into its successful racing history.
The brand’s innovative design comes into play through its flat silhouette and innovative “helmet roof” which gives the MINI Coupé a sporty and individual appeal. In addition to the integral roof spoiler, an active rear spoiler optimises airflow at higher speeds. Helped by its extremely high-opening tailgate and large luggage area, the MINI Coupé displays outstanding versatility in day-to-day driving and has a range of eight exterior paint finishes to choose from with the roof painted as standard in a contrasting colour. The MINI Coupé is the brand’s first model to adopt a three-box body structure with a strikingly stepped rear end. Its distinctive lines are expressed in the customary MINI design language and combine with unmistakable styling features.
Inside the car, the two-seater concept is emphasised by features such as oval recesses in the roof liner which emphasis the two-seat layout.
The MINI Coupé offers a level of chassis quality unrivaled in the small car segment giving the new MINI model the handling flair you would expect from the iconic brand. The precise Electric Power Steering, the standard-fitted DSC stability control system, powerful brakes and measures designed specifically to optimise torsional rigidity ensure the MINI Coupé driver can enjoy the ultimate in go-kart feeling.
The latest generation of four-cylinder petrol engines
The selection of engines, chassis set-up, weight distribution and aerodynamic properties of the MINI Coupé are all focused on delivering optimum performance for MINI drivers. As a result, the new car radiates the brand’s hallmark go-kart feeling with a whole new depth of intensity and achieves the best performance statistics ever recorded by a volume-produced MINI.
The MINI Coupé can be ordered with the most powerful petrol engines with outputs ranging from the 122 hp of the MINI Cooper Coupé, to MINI Cooper S Coupé (184 hp) and all the way up to the MINI John Cooper Works Coupé, a thoroughbred athlete producing 211 hp.
