The GranTurismo’s engine was created with one noble objective in mind: to guarantee the high peak power (95.4 bhp/litre) and speed of engine response typical of a competition unit to assure smooth acceleration and a quiet running. The result is immediately evident. As soon as the Maserati V8 comes to life, the driver can enjoy the sporty, pitch-perfect note. However, the engine is never invasive. Some of the on-board technology derives from the world of competition, such as the vehicle’s inox steel exhaust system featuring mechanical catalysers.
