With its familiar stepped roofline and clean, purposeful styling, LR3 looks highly capable. Features like its clever, practical asymmetric tailgate and strong horizontals and verticals combine to produce a vehicle with a distinctive, uncompromising look that mirrors its impressive capabilities.

Iconic silhouette
Strikingly clean lines and a characteristic stepped roof clearly reveal LR3´s design DNA. It´s an immediately recognisable iconic shape that is distinctively LR3 and distinctively Land Rover.

Asymmetric tailgate
Relocating LR3´s spare wheel beneath the floor has enabled us to develop a unique asymmetric tailgate design. This tailgate supplies a major functional benefit as well as adding a bold visual feature. When raised, its low section allows easy access to the contents of the interior, and when the tailgate is lowered it makes it a shorter stretch into the open load area. The longer tailgate portion has a variety of uses too, for instance when heavy luggage needs support, or for arranging an impromptu picnic.

Adaptive headlights
LR3´s optional Adaptive headlights are able to alter the way their light is cast on the road by responding to vehicle speed, direction and attitude. The powerful Bi-xenon lamps move left, right, up or down in reaction to changes in speed, pitch and steering angle. This ability can be used to counteract the effects of hard braking, for instance, or when turning into bends so that the road surface and any hazards are properly illuminated.

Asymmetric air-induction vent
Every design feature on LR3 is there for a reason. For instance, we´ve positioned its wing-mounted air-induction vent for optimum engine breathing whilst also being in the best possible position to maximise wading depth. But because just one vent is needed, we´ve added a vent on one side only.

Colours and finishes
LR3´s body is finished using an advanced and environmentally friendly paint process. Eleven eye-catching colours are available in a number of surface finishes, with recommended trim and body colour combinations supplied by our designers.

Command driving position
Drivers of LR3 can enjoy all the advantages of the classic Land Rover Command driving position. This places the driver in an elevated position and inspires confident driving thanks to their enhanced view of the road ahead. A clear view of all four corners of the vehicle also contributes to worry-free manoeuvring.

Up to seven adult-sized seats
Passengers in LR3 can have seven of everything when it comes to comfort and enjoyment on their journey. 7-seat models have seven full-sized adult seats, with the option of air-conditioned air directed towards all seven seats. And there are seven panoramic viewpoints thanks to stadium seating. So now each passenger can relax and enjoy the view ahead.

Electronic park brake
We´ve equipped LR3 with an electronic park brake, so the days of pulling on a heavy lever are gone for good – just flip a switch and the park brake is applied. The brake is automatically released when you drive away – particularly welcome if you´re carrying a heavy load or towing a trailer.

Highly flexible seating
Up to seven seats can be configured in numerous ways in LR3 without having to remove any of them. On second seat versions, for example, because the second row of seats can be split three ways you can fold the outer seats away completely and turn the centre seat into a table. This gives the two rear passengers an enormous amount of room, plus a central table surface that all passengers can make use of.

Completely flat load space
When the time comes to pack in large amounts of luggage, we´ve designed LR3 to allow both rows of rear seats to fold completely away to reveal a totally flat loading area. This enables heavy luggage to be slid in and out without any obstruction or awkward manoeuvring.

Excellent access
Thanks to its longer wheelbase, we´ve been able to equip LR3 with wider rear doors that open to a greater angle. This gives impressive ingress and egress to both rows of rear seats, where fitted. Rear leg and headroom have also been maximised during the design process.

Eight airbags
LR3 features up to eight airbags, with the front row having side thorax and front airbags. Each seat row also has its own curtain airbags. LR3 also demonstrates real strength in impact tests, thanks to our hydroformed frame design and its advanced engineering.

Integrated Body-frame™
On LR3, we´ve integrated its body and chassis to form a construction that is much stronger and stiffer than a conventional chassis. This in turn enables safer, more precise handling as well as ensuring LR3 can pass the most stringent crash safety tests.

Command driving position
LR3 brings all the benefits of the characteristic Land Rover Command driving position. The higher seating position gives you the advantage of spotting hazards – such as motorway queues – well ahead of time. You´ll also be able to park with confidence thanks to your improved view of all four corners of the vehicle.
Dynamic Stability Control and Active Roll Mitigation

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Active Roll Mitigation (ARM)
These two technologies help ensure LR3 remains safe during cornering. Active Roll Mitigation (ARM) is able to predict when the vehicle may become light on one side in a fast corner and utilises the braking system to stabilise the vehicle. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) provides further safe cornering stability.

No one knows more about off-road driving than Land Rover, and we´ve built that vast experience into our unique Terrain Response™ system (standard on all 7-seat versions). It makes it easy to drive confidently in LR3 – just turn the dial to the appropriate icon and you´ll have all our driving expertise at your fingertips. Terrain Response™ works whether you´re cruising on tarmac, driving over deep ruts, grass, snow, mud or sand. When you turn the dial, LR3´s engine, transmission, suspension and Traction settings are all reconfigured to deliver the best possible driving experience.

Electronic cross-linked Air suspension
Ride, handling, control and balance are all exceptional due to independent front and rear suspension. Computer controlled cross-linked air springs over each wheel supply further levels of on-road refinement and composure under all road conditions, helping maintain a level ride height irrespective of load (standard on all 7-seat versions). Our system also enables exceptional wheel articulation for outstanding off-road handling and Traction.

Intelligent auto or manual transmission
LR3´s advanced 6-speed automatic gearbox features adaptive mapping, giving it an ´intelligent´ capability to adapt itself to your driving approach. Standard with petrol engines, this gearbox also features CommandShift™ which gives the driver full manual control of gear selection when required. A smooth shifting 6-speed manual gearbox is also available with the TDV6 diesel engine.
