A new vehicle concept.

The BMW X6 is the world’s first Sports Activity Coupé. It combines the agility, performance and athletic design of a big BMW Coupé with the versatility and raised seating position of an SAV. Once again, BMW has defined a totally new vehicle concept. What’s more, the BMW X6 offers two world premieres: Dynamic Performance Control (fitted as standard), and the all-new Twin Turbo V8 petrol engine with High Precision Injection - the most efficient engine in its class.

Xenon headlights for high and low beam incl. automatic headlight range control and headlight washing system, for much better illumination of the road ahead in bad weather, at night or in poor visibility. The four light rings offer a daytime driving light function, and can also be used as parking lights.

Fog lights in free-form technology, integrated in the front air dam, ensure extra safety in poor visibility

Brake Force Display with two-stage brake lights makes it easier for drivers following from behind to see how hard you are applying the brakes: If you are applying the brakes in an emergency, the brake lights cover a larger area, allowing traffic to distinguish between full application of the brakes and just a slight “tap” on the brakes. The result, clearly, is an even higher standard of driving safety on the road.

Start/Stop button for starting the engine. After inserting the ignition key you can start or stop the engine by pressing the button.

Dynamic Performance Control Display in the instrument panel shows how xDrive is distributing drive between the front and rearaxle and how Dynamic performance Control is flexibly distributing power between the rear wheels.

Controller is the central iDrive input element (for driver and passenger). Additional functions can be activated from the Control Display using this rotary/push button. Menu navigation is oriented to the four cardinal points. Four different menus are available: Climate, Communication, Entertainment and on-board info (optional navigation).

Control Display with TFT screen (6.5-inch, colour). Shows the functions activated by the Controller (e.g. on-board computer or radio). In conjunction with the optional navigation system Professional* or with the TV function, the screen measures 8.8 inches.

Automatic air conditioning, incl. microfilter, to provide an ideal climate in any season, automatic temperature and air volume control, vent programme and rear ventilation; settings displayed on Control Display (standard on the X6 xDrive35i and X6 xDrive30d).

The V8 Twin Turbo engine in the BMW X6 xDrive50i.
In the BMW X6 xDrive50i, High Precision Injection and Twin Turbo technology join forces in a V8 engine for the first time ever. Both technologies deliver higher performance and lower fuel consumption. The figures speak for themselves: with 300 kW (407 hp), up to 600 Nm of torque between 1,800 and 4,500 rpm and an average fuel consumption of 12.5 l/100 km (EU composite figures), the 4.4 litre V8 engine in the BMW X6 xDrive50i delivers best-in-class efficiency. Another world premiere is the engine’s exhaust superchargers, which are fitted centrally in the V of the cylinder banks for the first time ever. By making the block more compact, this not only saves weight, but also reduces the pressure loss between intake and exhaust sides further still.

The six-cylinder inline petrol engine in the BMW X6 xDrive35i.
The 3-litre straight six-cylinder petrol engine with High Precision Injection and Twin Turbo technology combines the typical elasticity of a BMW six-cylinder petrol engine with equally impressive amounts of torque. With 400 Nm available from just 1,300 rpm upwards and a power output of 225 kW (306 hp), this engine is one of the most powerful in its class. And with a fuel consumption of just 10.9 l/100 km (EU composite figure), it’s also extremely efficient.
