Xenon headlights for low and high beam, incl. automatic headlight range control. Xenon headlights offer a very high standard of light intensity and a very smooth, consistent spread of light on the road.

Rear trim strip in Chrome. Positioned on the rear lid directly above the number plate panel, this trim strip accentuates the elegant contours of the rear section. On models featuring the 7 Series Sports Package or high-gloss Satin Chrome the rear trim strip is finished in body colour.

Foglamps integrated in the front air dam. For extra safety in bad weather and with poor visibility. Ellipsoid free-form technology ensures a very homogeneous spread of light on to the road.

Exterior mirrors finished in body colour, electrically adjustable. The mirrors are bluetinted, aspheric in design and come with active heating geared to the outside temperature. With their integrated fold-in function, both exterior mirrors move in electrically and fold out again at the touch of a button.

Multifunction steering wheel for convenient operation of numerous functions without being distracted from road traffic - which means you keep your hands on the wheel all the time. The set of buttons on the left is for all telephone functions (receiving and ending phone calls, voice control and hands-free operation) as well as radio volume control. The buttons on the right activate the Steptronic function, the sports program, and the radio search mode. One button can be freely programmed, for example for repeating navigation messages.

Info Display in analogue (mechanical indicators) and LCD technology (displays) glare-free for clear presentation of data - for example by retrieving data from the computer or navi gation system. Depending on brightness, the display changes colour and brilliance for optimum clarity.

Steptronic on the six-speed automatic transmission. The buttons integrated in the steering wheel allow you to shift gears manually in the Steptronic mode without taking your hands off the steering wheel - an important asset for extra safety. Two buttons at the front are for shifting down, two at the rear for shifting up.

The eight-cylinder petrol engines.
The larger displacement of the eight-cylinder powerplants increases power output to 270 kW (367 bhp) in the BMW 750i and 750Li, and 225 kW (306 bhp) in the BMW 740i and 740Li. Even at high engine speeds, the V8s remain vibration-free, thanks to their precise mass distribution. Valvetronic, the fully-variable valve control system, ensures the engines breathe freely. The result is breathtaking performance: the BMW 750i, for example, needs just 5.9 seconds from zero to 100 km/hr.

The straight six-cylinder petrol engine.
From the very second it springs to life, the straight six-cylinder engine in the BMW 730i and 730Li expresses the pure joy of BMW engineering at its best: naturally aspirated and with high engine speeds. With a maximum power output of 190 kW (258 bhp), and maximum torque of 300 Nm at 2,500 rpm, the responsive six-cylinder powerplant offers outstanding fuel efficiency thanks to BMW’s unique valve control system, Valvetronic, and a three-stage variable intake manifold.
