The BMW 1 Series is a true one-off, with an unmistakable, eye-catching design that makes it stand out in a crowd. The long bonnet and elongated side lines maximise the car’s sporting appeal. Its interior is confident, its dynamics persuasive and its efficiency is unparalleled. And by applying the unique principles of BMW EfficientDynamics, the BMW 1 Series extracts more performance out of every litre of fuel, enabling it to set new standards in its class. And what is your idea of joy?

Exterior mirrors, painted in body colour, with electric adjustment, aspheric, heated on 130i and 123d.Brake Force Display helps vehicles travelling behind you to evaluate your braking more accurately: in the event of an emergency stop, the illuminated area of the brake lights is increased. So traffic following behind can tell in an instant the difference between a light tap on the brake pedal and a
hard stop - for increased driving safety.

The four-cylinder petrol engine.
On average, you blink about 10 times a minute. In this time, you miss 2,000 separate fuel injections supplying as little as 2 mg of fuel each time. This exceptional level of precision is made possible by the positioning of the piezo injectors which are located centrally between the valves. The engines in the BMW 118i and BMW 120i with the Auto Start Stop function incorporate this cutting-edge technology allowing the car to operate in lean-burn mode for far longer and at far higher revs. This leads to improved efficiency, which in turn leads to better performance. Better performance from less fuel – what BMW EfficientDynamics is all about.

The straight six-cylinder petrol engine.
The largest engine in the BMW 1 Series range features Valvetronic fully variable valve control for an optimum power curve. This silky smooth six is the most powerful engine in the 1 Series range, delivering 195 kW (261 bhp). With a 0 to 100 km/h time of 6.0 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h, it’s the sportiest way to enjoy the BMW 1 Series. There’s no holding the BMW 130i back, unless it’s regarding fuel consumption, that is.
